One of the best parts of this job is that you never know where it will take you from day to day. One day I’m in the middle of the nowhere shooting in the woods, the next I might be downtown shooting in the alleys surrounded by tall buildings or maybe in a botanical garden. After getting some fun shots near the studio, Blake’s senior session brought me to the golf course which is where he is obviously most at home. Hopefully this session gave him some practice in front of the camera because you never know…maybe we will be seeing him play golf on T.V. soon. I talked his beautiful mama into getting into a couple of shots too.
I have taken little Quinn’s newborn and 1 year photos and so it was a wonderful surprise when his mom contacted me about doing some 18 months photos. He is such a cutie and is getting so big…and fast! Had to throw the suitcase into the last shot because it has been used at all of his sessions so far. It’s kind of a tradition I guess.
What cute cousins! They decided only to both be happy at the same time for a few minutes, but they made those minutes count and rocked their session. When one of them wasn’t happy, the other was all smiles for the camera so that made it easy to decide when to do what during the session. As I always say, when shooting kids and newborns, they are the boss.
I can’t tell you how much I enjoy my Watch Me Grow clients. It is so amazing to photograph a newborn session and then get to see how much they change, new milestones they have hit and how their little personalities are developing every 3 months. I’m pretty sure Hadley gets even cuter every time I see her. As I was editing her 6 month session, it occurred to me that we only have 2 more sessions left and how much I will miss seeing her. Hopefully mommy and daddy plan on keeping up with her portraits well after 1 year. 😉
